課程概述 |
這門課包含兩部分：（1）介紹當代宗教史研究（前半段）（2）芝加哥學派中對宗教在歷史所扮演的角色，以及研究的進路。（後半段）雖然這課題若干重要作品有中文譯本，我們儘可能讀英文作品（或英譯本）。在指定的書籍外，我會發下補充教材。 |

課程目標 |
1． 理解西方學術界過去百年來宗教研究的發展。
2． 從歷史的脈絡觀察宗教的活動，並從此衍生出來的觀念。
3． 芝加哥大學的宗教史學派所關心的課題。

課程要求 |
1． 學生上課前必須讀完指定的章節。
2． 其中一個小時為討論。一位學生被指定發報告，一位學生被指定討論。指定報告者在報告前得把報告內容放在google 課程網站，供所有學生閱讀、以及討論。（學生得提供電郵帳號，最好是gmail）
3． 學生需要繳交期中（論文摘要與註釋的書目）與期末報告
